A federal agency has embarked on a path to establish a multi-cloud strategy to encourage competition in the marketplace, provide the Agency with a wide selection of proven tools, and ensure the Agency has access to the best value of Cloud Service Providers (CSP). The Agency required assistance in enhancing their understanding of governance and security standards, improving their Authority to Operate (ATO) cycles, and speeding up their production deployments.

Navitas Solution

Navitas worked with the Agency to develop a clear IT and multi-cloud adoption strategy closely aligned with its overall business goals. This included creating a multi-cloud operating model, evaluating cloud platforms and tools, reviewing third-party best-in-class products, and developing Proof of Concepts (POC). Our approach covered current state analysis, identification of gaps, and creation of a path forward for future state multi-cloud architecture. Navitas established a foundation for Azure and GCP, realigned the current AWS operating model, and successfully designed and delivered cloud-native solutions using best of the breed services offered by these cloud providers. We have developed a Well-Architected Review framework, providing a mandatory alignment assessment for inflight and deployed applications.

Our highly talented certified architects assisted the Agency in increasing their understanding of the benefits of cloud-managed services, enhancing their DevSecOps with container image standardization and enforcing all workloads to use preapproved golden images. We have added cost optimization and rightsizing to standard cloud operating procedures and automated time-consuming account provisioning processes.

We established a culture of innovation and experimentation with emerging technologies and evangelized multi-cloud adoption by delivering tech talks, brown bags, and rapid prototypes. We have created a blueprint to build monitoring as a service with a single pane of view and advanced concepts like AIOps, SIEM, and SOAR analytics. Navitas enhanced the Cloud Governance and Security engineering processes by introducing a new set of tools and securing automated controls.
